High School

Welcome Friends!

The Community School of Davidson High School is excited to open its doors in the fall of 2010 with approximately 100 9th graders and will grow one grade level per year through Grade 12 to about 400 students by the year 2014.  The High School is undergoing construction in a separate building just a few blocks away from the facility housing our K-8 program.  The above artist rendering shows our High School Learning Street, an area envisioned to be the heart of academic and social activity.

Our high school is a unique educational environment where students not only participate in traditional core course work, but have opportunities to discover, explore and develop their individual interests and abilities.  Whether drawn to the arts, sciences, technology, humanities or physical education, students are challenged to reach beyond their comfort zone, think creatively and learn through real life applications and experiences. Our goal is to help each student find their love for learning and script their personal high school experience to prepare them for college, service and life.

Scholarship, individuality, diversity, integrity, respect, and accountability are all expected at CSD.  But with reasonably small classes and an emphasis on relationships and community, we’re able to offer more than the usual high school experience.  This high school provides a rich learning environment where students come to know themselves well and are truly known by others.

We invite you to browse our website, study the high school powerpoint presentation (below), come to an open house, or contact me directly (rpillsbury@csdnc.org).  My door is always open.

Warmly,

Ralph T. Pillsbury,
Principal, Community School of Davidson High School
