Registration period for the 2010-2011 school year is now closed.
Any registration form received after January 31st, is NOT entered in the lottery but is added to the end of the grade level waiting list.
For the 2010-2011 school year, a child must be five years old on or before August 31, 2010 to enroll as a Kindergarten student.
Community School of Davidson accepts registration forms from October 1 through January 31 of each year.
Registration forms may be picked up at CSD any time during regular school hours (8:30-3:00), during a scheduled open house session, or may be downloaded and printed out here.
IF YOU CHOOSE TO DOWNLOAD THE REGISTRATION FORM, please note the following:
- The registration form has two sides and must be filled out in its entirety to be eligible for the lottery.
- In the space provided on the back of the registration form, please indicate whether or not you have attended an open house. A list of dates and times are provided for your reference when you download our lottery registration form.
- Should you be admitted to CSD, and have not had the opportunity to attend an open house, we will be contacting you to attend information session. Our school philosophy is amazing and unique, but is not for everyone. We feel it’s important for all our new families to have an opportunity to hear about CSD to decide if our school’s philosophy and values align with that of yours.
- Your completed form must be received by our office by January 31. You may return the form to us in one of three ways:

- Once we receive your registration form(s), we will assign a Registration Number to each one and will notify you of this number by email or mail. (IMPORTANT - please indicate your notification preference in the space provided on the back of registration form). PLEASE RECORD THIS REGISTRATION NUMBER AND KEEP IT IN A SAFE PLACE! IT IS THE NUMBER WE WILL REFER TO FOR ALL FURTHER LOTTERY COMMUNICATIONS.
Please Note:
- You will be able to verify the receipt of your registration form on our website. There is a direct link to the verification page on our home page.
Database updates will occur on a weekly basis.
Additional Information:
- If you are currently on the CSD waitlist, you are welcome to pick up a registration form anytime between October 1, 2009 and January 31, 2010 during normal school operating hours.
- All registration forms received on or before January 31, 2010 become eligible for the school's public lottery. Any registration form received after January 31, 2010 is NOT entered in the lottery, but is added to the end of the grade level waiting list.
- Open space is determined by the number of current students planning to return.
- Siblings of students attending CSD for an entire school year are given priority for placement the following year as spaces for the applicable grade level become available.
- The lottery for the 2010-2011 school year will be held at CSD on February 22, 2010 at 4:30 pm and is open to the public.
Proof of Residency: The North Carolina Department of Public Instruction, Division of Charter Schools, mandates that applications from out-of-state residents are not eligible for admission unless proof of North Carolina residency can be provided prior to the date of the lottery.
Community School of Davidson will not discriminate against any student on the basis of ethnicity, national origin, gender, or disability. Except as required by law, the school will not limit admission to students on the basis of intellectual ability, measures of achievement or aptitude, athletic ability, disability, race, creed, gender, national origin, religion, or ancestry.
