| The Porcelain Doll
Anger, hatred, and fear,
Building up a wall of resentment
The porcelain doll bears a
Scar on her perfect white face
The little girl adores her
Just the same as before
The mother says to bandage
Up her wound with cloth
The father says to buy
A new, more perfect one
The little girl runs to hide
All the anger, hatred, and fear
Dripping down her arms.

| Ode Greasy. Anytime of the day, with anyone. When you’re bored, when you’re busy. Walking, driving, alone, with friends. The fries seasoned to perfection, begging to be consumed. The biscuit crumbles in my hands like a cookie. My stomach is a hungry beast screaming to be silenced. I’m Christopher Columbus searching for food. It keeps you wanting more. Bojangles.

| August tritina Autumn is off-beat, it looks like summer People smile, the world looks so nice today. As I see scornful children go to school I want to run home, but I have to go to school. Autumn colors, but it’s still summer I’m going to hate going to school today. The Sun shines, but worries are intensified today. Parents are so happy to drop their kids off at school Sun is soothing, but it’s still summer Summer… its still here, but today school starts and it will soon disappear

| Sisters
Sisters forever, you and I,
Nothing can compare the love,
That I have for you.
Even though I fight with you,
You and I,
Will always have a special love.
You are someone I love,
No one can change how I feel about you,
Sisters forever you, and I.
I love you.

| Where I’m From
I am from late afternoon naps,
From early six o’clock dinners,
I am from waking up early,
And from going to sleep late.
I am from rip sticking at dawn,
And from basketball at night.
I am from Chinese takeout on a weekend;
From eating it while watching a movie.
I am from soccer on the wet morning grass,
And from airsoft in the rain.
I am from playing video games late at night,
And from waking up Saturday morning to chocolate chip pancakes.
I am from football in the street,
From 4-square in the driveway.
I am from the warm fireplace during the winter,
And the refreshing AC in the summer.
I am from walking into my home to the sweet delicious smell of cooking,
And from walking to stores around town.
I am from the warmest, happiest, most entertaining place on earth;
I am from home.

| Hidden in a Dream
*English Sonnet*
You whisk me out of our wonderstruck world
fogging my fatigue to all new meadows
spinning me up like a ribbon just curled
glistening my hopes as fireflies aglow
diving to new depths, climbing new ropes
never dreaming of escaping your kiss.
My fears and longings secretly elope
the one sacred closet of flawless bliss.
Safe with protection of my dear layers
we can hide until the rooster’s first crow.
The only scene where my heart stretches acres
and the only scene where i am your doe.
The covering’s brushed back behind my soul,
as I awake alone as earth’s new foal.

| I can Count on Them
Simple Sunday dinner,
with my dad's gourmet meals.
I can count on love.
Love that is never ending.
No matter what love-
I can count on fights.
We can fight over nothing.
Fights over big things and fights over little things.
Fights that shape us.
I can count on imperfections.
Not just imperfections, mostly all imperfections.
But it is all perfect in God's eyes.
I can count on comedy.
Sometimes comedy that hurts feelings.
Sometimes comedy that no one else would understand.
I can count on my family.

| Ode to Butterflies
Butterflies.
Oh how I wish I were a butterfly,
A creature who goes through metamorphosis,
Who comes out beautiful,
With their original self intact.
A fluttering Cinderella.
Oh how I wish I were a butterfly,
A creature who can brighten the day,
Who flies around the world,
With home in her heart,
a sweet, warm animal.
Oh how I long to be a butterfly,
Someone who brings hope,
Through beauty and
Love,
To lift off my jacket for my own amazing metamorphosis.

| The Dance of the Birds Sonnet
As I watch silent and still the sky
Fills with movement and the wind breathes in.
Shapes are formed, intermixed and changing up high.
They are free and one can go places I have never been.
Knowing the others’ thoughts
Always anticipating the next move
As seemingly insignificant as little dots
But their art formed is worthy of The Louvre.
All are parts of a whole
Each individual piece is a being, a bird.
Their designs as intricate as the soul.
A dance so beautiful, when it ends you haven’t a word.
Although it was only on a screen
No sight is so pleasing than that which I have seen.

| That girl
The one you just made fun of for being bald
That girl, She has been fighting cancer for 2 years now
That boy
The one you just called fat
That boy, He has diabetes
That girl
The one you called a wimp
That girl, Her dad is fighting for you in Afghanistan
That boy
The one who you just called stupid
That boy, he has autism
All those girls and boys,
The ones that you made fun of…
They are unique
But they are also just like you.
