Earth/Environmental Science

Science is headlining the news almost every day.  It may be the international space station, genetics research, or the latest drug to hit the market.  It is necessary for us to have a solid background in science to make informed decisions in this day and age.  Everyday we see the impact that the Earth has on our daily lives, from filling up at gas stations to the massive devastation caused by natural disasters such as the recent earthquakes in Haiti and Japan.  Human activities such as deforestation, oil spills, and pollution can have negative effects and consequences to our environment. In order to better understand the world in which we live, it is essential that we study the Earth.
