anticipate:  to expect or predict

abundant:  existing or available in large quantities, plentiful

access:  a means of approaching or entering a place

accumulate:  gather or build up

adapt:  to make something suitable for a new use or purpose

adhere:  believe in and follow the practices of

allegiance:  loyalty or commitment of a subordinate to a superior or of an individual to a group or a cause

ambition:  a strong desire to do or achieve something, typically requiring determination and hard work

ample:   enough or more than enough; plentiful

anguish:  severe mental or physical pain or suffering

anticipate:  expect or predict, be prepared, look forward to

anxious:  feeling unease worry or nervousness, typically about something with an unknown outcome

 

Appeal—the ability to attract interest or stimulate the mind

Apprehensive—fearful about something that may happen

Arid—barren or unproductive due to lack or moisture

Arrogant---making claims to being superior or more important than others

Awe---overwhelming feeling of admiration or respect

Barren—unproductive or incapable of producing results

Beacon—a guiding or warning signal, a tower or lighthouse

Beneficial—advantageous or helpful

Blunder—to act without direction or wisdom (verb);  a careless mistake  (noun)

Boisterous—loud, rough, noisy

 

Microscope  (noun)- An optical instrument that uses a lens or a combination of lenses to produce magnified   images of small objects, especially of objects too small to be seen by the unaided eye.

Biology (noun)-the branch of science dedicated to studying life, living organisms.

Domestic (adjective) - of or pertaining to the home, the household, household affairs, or the family

Drastic (adjective) -extremely severe or extensive

Elaborate – (verb) - to add details in writing, speaking, etc.; give additional or fuller treatment

Generate (verb) - to produce or bring into being; create

Genre (noun) - kind, category, or sort, esp. of literary or artistic work

Ingenious – (adjective) - characterized by cleverness or originality of invention or construction

Unanimous - (adjective) - of one mind; in complete agreement; agreed.

Monotonous- (adjective) - lacking in variety; tediously unvarying

Colonialism – (noun) - the policy or practices of a nation extending or maintaining control over previously independent territories.

Command Economy – (noun) - An economy where supply and price are regulated by the government rather than market forces. Government planners decide which goods and services are produced and how they are distributed. The former Soviet Union was an example of a command economy


Market Economy- (noun) - A
system of allocating resources based only on the interaction of market forces, such as supply and demand. A true market economy is free of governmental influence, collusion and other external interference.

Traditional Economy – (noun) -An underdeveloped
economy in which communities use primitive tools and methods to harvest and hunt for food, often resulting in little economic growth. Traditional economies are often found in rural regions with high levels of subsistence farming

Consequence – (noun) - that which follows; a result.

                                                          

Conspicuous – (adjective) - easily seen; obvious.

Deplete - (verb) - to lessen drastically; exhaust.

Designate (verb) - to choose for a particular job or purpose.

Diligent – (adjective) – trying hard and steadily to achieve a goal

Dominate- (verb) - to rule over; govern; control.

Pyramid – noun- a massive monument of ancient Egypt having a rectangular base and four triangular faces culminating in a single apex, built over or around a crypt or tomb

Hieroglyphics – noun- a system of writing in which a picture or symbol stands for a word or symbol

Theocracy – noun- a form of government in which a god or gods are acknowledged as the ultimate authority

Dynasty – noun – a family or group that maintains power for several generations

Boycott – verb – to refuse to buy, use, or go to a place in order to make a protest to bring about change

Burden – verb – give a heavy load to

Civic – adjective – of, relating, to, or belonging to a city

Collaborate – verb- to work with someone else on a project

Commend – verb – to speak of with praise for some act or service

Concise – adjective – saying much in a few words; short and to the point

 

 nomad (noun) - a member of a people or tribe who move from place to place to find pasture and food; a wanderer

 

miscellaneous (adj.) - composed of or containing a variety of things; mixed; varied

 

inequality (noun) – not equal in size, amount or value

 

foraging (noun) –the acquisition of food by hunting, fishing, or the gathering of

 

pondered (verb) - to consider something deeply and thoroughly; meditate

 

tedious (adj.) - boring, tiring, monotonous, dull

 

emissary (noun) - a representative sent on a mission or errand

 

commission- (noun) - authority to undertake or perform certain duties or functions

 

incise (verb) - to produce (lines, a design, etc) by cutting into the surface of something with a sharp tool

 

indifference (noun) - lack of interest or concern

Variable (n) - a quantity that can change or take on different values. Variables tend to be represented as symbols or letters in quantities.
Linear (adj) -means anything that is like a line.
 

Cease (v) - to stop; discontinue

Contribute (v) - to give (money, time, knowledge, assistance, etc.) to a common supply, fund, etc., as for charitable purposes

Descendant- (n) - a person who is an offspring, however remote, of a certain ancestor, family, group, etc.

 

Exemplary (adj): perfect, worth imitating

Oppression (n): harsh or unjust rule or domination


Ruthlessly (adv): cruelly, in a harsh or merciless manner


Submissive (adv): in a humble and obedient manner


Insidious (adj): sly, treacherous, not readily recognized as dangerous

spontaneous – (adjective) - coming or resulting from a natural impulse; arising naturally and independent of external causes


theory – (noun) -- explanation of concepts or events based on scientific knowledge resulting from many observations and experiments.  (Key here is "many observations and experiments.")

legislation- (noun) – the making or giving of laws

liberate – (verb) - to free (a nation or area) from control by a foreign or oppressive government.

migration – (noun) - the act of moving from one country, region, or place to another.

negotiate - (verb) - to deal or bargain with another or others, as in the preparation of a treaty or contract

omniscient – (adjective) - having complete or unlimited knowledge, awareness, or understanding

priority- (adjective) - highest or higher in importance, rank, privilege

majority – (noun) - the greater part or number; the number larger than half the total

obstacle - (noun) - something that stands in the way of progress or achievement
