Welcome to 7th grade Language Arts!
Unbelievable! We are now in 7th grade.
Summer is over.
The students are so much more self-assured this year.
Personally, I now have another son. At least he is already grown! He came to our family by way of marrying my oldest daughter this past summer. May I now say I have 5 children, or do I reduce it to 3? I am thinking I go with 5!
I have lived in many places throughout the United States, both as a child and as an adult with my own children and husband. Moving so often has helped me learn to appreciate all the unique people and places that are in our great country. Choosing to migrate back to NC to finish raising our four children was a hard-thought but great decision and I love being a "Carolina girl!"
Reading has always been a love of mine, as has writing. My own library at home is embarrassingly full and spans everything from Harry Potter to The Count of Monte Cristo, and from Little House on the Prairie to Flags of our Fathers. I whole-heartedly believe that all children (and adults!) are readers at heart. With a good book, anyone can travel anywhere and do anything without ever leaving the creature comforts of pajamas and a cozy couch!
Come along with me as I lead your child into the world of words and the amazing way they merge to form beauty, elicit emotion and cause change. Their power is phenomenal and everlasting. As Rudyard Kipling stated, "Words are, of course, the most powerful drug used by mankind."
