- E.E. Cummings

Ms. Smith in a nutshell…

My name is Jessica Smith and I am extremely excited to be in my second year at CSD as the High School Counselor. I am originally from Charlotte, NC and am apparently one of the few natives to stick around. I ventured a few miles up the road for college at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro where I majored in Sociology and minored in Psychology and Spanish. After college I quickly made my way back to Charlotte for graduate school. I completed my Masters in School Counseling at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte in 2009.

In my free time I love spending time with friends and family, going to Carolina Panthers games, traveling and exploring new things. I’ve traveled to nine countries and still have so many more to check off my list. I had the amazing opportunites to travel to Europe in high school and study in Spain while in college and would love for every student to have such opportunities. Over the summer I try to sneak away to the beach as often as possible. I also enjoy volunteering as a Wish Granter with the Make-a-Wish Foundation. I’ve volunteered with them for the past eight years and feel blessed to be a part of such an amazing organization.

I think high school is such a fun time in a young person’s life and am honored to be a part of your high school experience at CSD!
