 Hi! My name is Debbie Shutt. I am the CSD music specialist for grades K, 1, 2, and 3. My husband, Grey, and I have two children, Allison, who is a Junior at Mooresville High School, and Carson, who is in 7th grade at CSD.
I am a native Charlottean and have degrees in Elementary Education from UNC-CH (Go Tarheels!) and Appalachian State. However, music has always been a huge part of my life. After founding Kindermusik of Davidson and running it for 11 years, I decided to add music onto my teaching license. When CSD became a charter school, Mrs. Joy hired me and I have been here ever since!
I am passionate about music and I love to share that with children. My own children are very involved in music. Allison is one of the Drum Majors for the award winning Mooresville Pride in Motion Marching band, as well as one of their lead saxophone players. Carson plays trombone in the CSD band. Both sing in choirs and play handbells, too! We couldn't imagine life without music. Music is magical!!
